Your Guides, Graham and Mike Nielsen began their fishing experiences from the shores of Campbell River, BC. Both had caught their first Tyees by the age of 12. As young teenagers in the early 1970's, they began guiding for the world famous fishing resorts Painter's Lodge and April Point Lodge. They later worked as independent guides at the successful Sport Fish Center in Campbell River.

They have explored the Blackfish Sound (Telegraph Cove) area and Tofino. Mike, as fish master and manager of Langara Fishing Lodge, was instrumental in establishing Langara Island in the Queen Charlottes as a premier fishing destination.

Together the two brothers have founded Nielsen's Lodge in Tahsis on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Mike and Graham each have over 30 years salt water guiding experience.

Tahsis is an untapped paradise that offers something for everybody: whale watchers, historians, spelunkers (Upana Caves), hikers (Nootka Trail), kayakers, and especially fisherman. Nielsen's Lodge boats are 22' to 24' in length and are well suited to West Coast fishing. Our boats have a cabin and head and even a bunk for the weary who just can't reel in another one!

Catering service is supplied by Alana Nielsen. Alana was the owner/operator of a catering business at Dolphin's Fishing Resort in Campbell River. She gave up her catering business for a time to be a very busy mom and has now returned to the culinary world and her #1 passion - cooking.
